Tokyo Metropolitan Government Response to Covid-19 (No 86)

   Extension of the Rebound Prevention Period

      The Tokyo Metropolitan Government has designated the period from March 22 through April 21 as the “Rebound Prevention Period (Period for Staged Easing of Restrictions).”

      *The measures taken during this period are as follows, and are the same as those explained in the 85th email.

       Request to restaurants and bars to shorten business hours

   Business hours: Up to 9 p.m. (a one hour extension from during the State of Emergency)

(Provision of alcoholic beverages from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.)

   Area: All of Tokyo and its three neighboring prefectures

Request concerning restrictions on the holding of events

        Of the following capacity rate or maximum number of people, whichever results in a fewer number of people applies for the holding of events.

Capacity rate: No loud vocalization:  within 100% of facility capacity, With loud vocalization: within 50% of facility capacity

    Maximum number of people: 5,000 people or 50% of capacity (≦10,000), whichever is larger

       (Ref: During the State of Emergency, this was limited to a maximum 5,000 people and within 50% of capacity.)

       Along with the above restrictions, operation hours will be shortened to up to 9 p.m. (a one hour extension from during the State of Emergency).

       Tokyo Multilingual Consultation Navi to take over the functions of TOCOS starting April 1

       The Tokyo Coronavirus Support Center for Foreign Residents (TOCOS) will cease operations on March 31, 2021.

       Starting from April 2021, TMC Navi, operated by Tokyo Metropolitan Foundation TSUNAGARI, will expand its services to take over the functions of TOCOS, and will continue closely partnering with various

       specialized offices (local public health centers, the Labor Consultation Center, etc.) to assist foreign nationals with consultations concerning COVID-19 and its effect on their lives.
