MHLW Information – Japanese Covid-19 Border Measures (Change on 1 March 2022)

We are pleased to share below the latest Updates on Covid-19 from the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare of Japan:

New border measures set effective 01 March 2022

<1. Quarantine measures>

○Designated countries/regions:

-Booster unvaccinated: 3 days self-quarantine at the facilities designated by the quarantine station.

-Booster vaccinated: 7 days self-quarantine at your own place.

 

○Non Designated countries/regions:

-Booster unvaccinated: 7 days self-quarantine at your own place.

-Booster vaccinated: Not required any self-quarantine.

 

However, those who are negative of COVID-19 test result on the third days from the entry into Japan, may leave self-quarantine.

○For all;

You may use public transportation when you move to your own self-quarantine place for 24 hours after entry into Japan.

<2. New entry of foreign nationals>

The Government of Japan decided to accept foreign nationals who under control from responsible persons to entry Japan and should be responsible for supervision of their conduct

However, the entry reason for sightseeing is not allowed. Maximum number of people to enter Japan to be increased from 3500 to 5000 per day.
