DongYan’s secrets revealed in GMA Pinoy TV 16th Anniversary FunCon
Hosted by no less than Comedy Concert Queen, The Clash judge, and Marian’s‘ kambal’ – Ms. Aiai delas Alas the fun-filled virtual fan meet was held in celebration of GMA Pinoy TV’s 16th-anniversary celebration, as well as DongYan’s birthday bash.
Opening with a game entitled “Drawing Ka,” the Kapuso Royal Couple illustrated some of their hit movies and TV series together. Five lucky winners who were able to guess the correct answer won special GMA Virtual Tours tickets wherein they could visit GMA Network’s state-of-the-art studios in the comfort of their own homes.
During the question-and-answer portion, Dingdong revealed that his wife is a certified K-drama fan. He even teased Marian that her dream role is to be the leading lady of Korean actor Hyun Bin. “Gusto niyang maka-partner ‘yung ano, ‘yung nasa ano. ‘Yung Korean,” Dingdong said while Marian was averting him from disclosing her fangirling secret.
Eventually, Marian admitted that she has a big crush on Hyun Bin, “Kaya pala nagseselos ka doon kapag pinapanood ko! Kung mayroon akong dream, ikaw lang ‘yun! Pero ang pangarap ko love triangle ha? Nandoon siya (si Dingdong). Involved siya. Pero kontrabida ko siya. Leading man ko ‘yun (si Hyun Bin), kontrabida siya (si Dingdong).” In a witty reply, Dingdong cracked a joke, “Hindi baliktad! Kami ni Hyun Bin!”
Dongyanatics also got a pleasant surprise from their idols when the couple personally confirmed that they will team up again for a new project.
“Yes! Yes ang sagot. Y-E-S!,” Marian officially announced their highly-anticipated reunion onscreen for the first time. “Very soon!” Dingdong added.
GMA Pinoy TV also surprised them with video greetings from their close friends and relatives.
One of the video messages that really touched the Kapuso Primetime Queen was from Senior Vice President of GMA Entertainment Group and their ‘ninang’ Lilybeth G. Rasonable. Rasonable shared how professional Marian was during the shooting of ‘Dyesebel’ and how she became witness to one of DongYan’s sweetest moments.
“We were shooting in Coron, Palawan. Hindi pa sila couple at that time. Marian had been shooting underwater for the whole day. And it was exhausting to say the least swimming with a tail. Kitang-kita mong sobra siyang pagod pero hindi mo siya maringgan na magreklamo o magwala dahil gusto niya ‘yung ginagawa niya. Out of sheer exhaustion, she just cried her heart out on Dingdong’s shoulder. Dingdong was just quiet and just let her release whatever tiredness she had. Alam mong may something itong dalawang ito na tatagal at magpo-progress,” Rasonable said.
Teary-eyed, Marian agreed that it was indeed one of the highlights of her career, “Nag-flashback nga eh, kaya naiiyak tuloy ako! Ma’am/Ninang, maraming salamat talaga sa pagmamahal ninyo.”

Actor and Dingdong’s cousin Carlo Gonzalez revealed that the Kapuso Primetime King is pikon while Marian is an alaskador, “Pinakapikon siya pagdating kay Yan!” Dingdong chuckled in his reply, “Ibinuking mo ako!”
Calling each other as “Bai” or sister, “Nagbabagang Luha” star Glaiza de Castro revealed that Marian has a sweet tooth like her and she discovered it during the taping of “Temptation of Wife” and “Amaya.” “Nagulat ako na sobrang hilig pala niya sa sweets. Hindi pala niya dine-deprive ang sarili niya. Ang dami niyang dalang sweets,” Glaiza said.
Beaming with joy, Marian thanked GMA Pinoy TV for organizing the virtual reunion with Kapuso fans abroad, “Sa GMA Pinoy TV at GMA, salamat sa effort ninyo sa mga video greetings na ito. Malaking bagay sa amin ito. At nagpapasalamat kami na binigyan ninyo kami ng pagkakataon na makasama kayo at maging parte ng inyong 16th anniversary.”
Dingdong was likewise grateful for the opportunity to bond with their fans again, “It really means a lot na kahit na sa ganitong paraan ay nagkakasama tayo. Nagkikita tayo kahit virtual lang. Sa GMA Pinoy TV, thank you for this episode. Sixteenth year anniversary na ng GMA Pinoy TV pero pakiramdam namin parang anniversary namin ang sine-celebrate.”
Before the fan meeting ended, Dingdong and Marian posed for a group photo with the lucky participants and Fil-foreign press.
