BPI Establishes Presence in Tokyo, Japan via a Representative Office

The Bank of the Philippine Islands formally opened a representative office in Tokyo, Japan last Oct.29, 2014. Japan ranks 7th among the top 10 countries of destination of Filipinos in 2012, thus making it one of the top sources of remittances to the Philippines. Japan is also the country’s top trading partner and continues to grow its trading relationship with the Philippines significantly. The representative office is based in the Roppongi District of Tokyo which hosts several foreign embassies, including the Philippine Embassy. It is located at Imperial Roppongi II, Rm 403, 5-16-52 Roppongi , Minato-ku, Tokyo, Japan.

The representative office will allow BPI to pursue and develop more tie-up relationships while building the confidence of prospective Japanese clients and locators in the Philippines. For Filipinos in Japan, BPI’s Country Representative to Japan, Bon Urven P. Dampor, can answer queries and provide assistance, especially pertaining to their remittance and other banking needs in the Philippines.

Through BPI’s remittance tie-ups in Japan, Filipinos can avail of a fast and affordable way of sending money to the Philippines. These tie-ups include Japan Remit Finance, Speed Money Transfer Japan K.K. and Unidos Co. Ltd. (Kyodai Remittance) and its global tie-ups, I-Remit and UAE Exchange.
