It has become popular since it started in 2014 when Food Nations organized a group dedicated to introducing Japan’s pride to the world through this kind of event. It became a popular topic of conversation as one of the biggest food events in Japan. From the year they started up to the present, the number of visitors and locales continued to grow and was dubbed as the largest national food event.

Since then, they made it a yearly event to give locales a chance to enjoy the best luxury meats. In this event, you will find popular shops gathered and coordinating with different nations’ embassies to bring in variety of meat dishes to try out. Of course, when you talk about meat, beer will not be far behind. These meat dishes are being tried out and matching them with beers from all around Japan and every visitor will have a chance to enjoy that particular event with music entertainment, traditional Japanese music and various stage performances.

The Tokyo Meat Market Festival 2016 is in Tokyo Central Meat Wholesale Market near Shinagawa and Sengakuji Temple. The event will be held on October 15-16, 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Once every year the Tokyo Central Meat Wholesale Market hosts a two-day meat festival open to the public. Vegetarians, this may be a festival to avoid, for others, it is like a meat market, with real meat! But wait, to get the attention of veggie lovers, the event is not focusing on meat alone, you may also find some vendors selling vegetables and fruits at discounted prices.
