China wants peace

The unresolved territorial spats with its neighbors is still there but China is determined to push through with peace and openness as they prepare for a once-in-a-decade leadership change, Ambassador Ma Keqing said.

“China will be all the more determined to go for peaceful development, follow the win-win strategy of opening up and implement the policy of good-neighborliness with neighboring countries,” she said. She also admitted that China and Philippines relations have encountered some difficulties in the past few months but those tensions have eased.  She also cited a positive development when Interior and Local Government Secretary Manuel Roxas II and Vice President Xi Jinping met on the sidelines of the China-ASEAN Expo in Nanning City. President Aquino sent Roxas as special envoy to the trade fair.-(Philstar)
