Change of Employment
QUESTION
I have recently been hired as an elementary school teacher, and have just acquired my instructor visa. However, I got accepted in my other application as an office employee. I would like to transfer to the office job but the problem is my new status. The company wants me to work for them initially as an intern for three months as probationary period and will offer me a one-year renewable contract afterwards. But, the instructor visa does not allow me to engage in office work. May I ask for advice on how to process my job transfer and change in visa? Because of the complexity of the situation, I haven’t resigned yet from my current job. Hoping for your feedback. Thanks and regards.

ANSWER
Since I do not see the “employment contract,” which you and your employer concluded, I will comment in general. As you have pointed out, you cannot perform an office work carrying out instructor visa based on the regulation of Immigration Control and Refugee Recognition Law. If it would be revealed these facts to the Immigration Bureau, you and your employer would not only be punished but your residence permit would be closed, and you have to go back to your native country. More information will be given to you only when you would bring an employment contract and consult with me in person at my office.
