3 FILIPINO FILMS TO PARTICIPATE IN OAFF 2022!

Feature films “Big Night!” by Jun Robles Lana, “Kun Maupay Man It Panahon (Whether the Weather is Fine)” by Carlo Francisco Manatad, and “You and Me and the Ending” by Irene Villamor were selected to participate at the 17th Osaka Asian Film Festival (OAFF) happening from March 10 to 21 in Japan.

Comedy film “Big Night!” is one of the fifteen selected to compete for OAFF’s Grand Prix and Most Promising Talent Award, the festival’s top awards.

Waray film “Kun Maupay Man It Panahon” will be screened at the festival’s Spotlight section which features rising films that highlight new talents in cinema.

Lastly, romantic-comedy film “You and Me and the Ending” will be screened at the festival’s New Action! Southeast Asia, a special program that showcases new movements in Southeast Asian cinema.

Established in 2005, the OAFF is an annual festival that aims to promote Osaka worldwide as a gateway city for Asian films. For its 17th edition, the festival program will be happening in a hybrid set-up, having both an online program and theatrical screenings of the selected films.

Cheers to another set of Filipino films representing the Philippines on an international platform! Best of luck to our participating filmmakers!

FDCP is hoping for the Filipino Community’s support while the abovementioned movies are being screened as part of the OAFF 2022.  More information about the three films is provided in the attached file.
