LABOR OF LOVE

A heart shaped Valentine’s Day card is homemade out of red construction paper and is sticking out of a white envelope sup-rounded by arts and crafts supplies like ribbon colored pencils and felt. Room for copy-space.

Before tackling labor of love, we ought to know the meaning of the word. No person in this world can exactly define the true meaning of love. You cannot define it, but you can feel it. It is universal. Love is all. Helping someone in your own little way and not asking for anything in return, that is love. Helping people in distress without getting paid for your good deeds, that is love.

Giving something from what you already have refers to something that is a part of you, and that you will give that “piece” of you for no reason, other than the purpose of just giving it because you are happy to do it. It’s not necessary, and you are not required to do it, or not a must that you should, would, or could do it. To make it even easier to understand, it is by your own free will.

Labor of love is something that you achieved in doing without spending money. Inexpensive things that gives you satisfaction and happiness using your creativity. In school, children are taught to express their love by sharing, and expressing it creatively. Cutting some art papers and making heart shape out of it is what you call love in an artful manner.

Remember, more often than not, actions and words can give the message better than a fancy gift or fine dining. Being creative in your Valentine’s Day plans can not only save money, but it can also give you the chance to do something that shows how much you care.

Handmade gifts are also another inexpensive way to show you care. Baking, sending simple notes, a scrapbook made by you or anything that you can express love with.

The easiest way is to cut a red paper and shape it into a heart shape and voila! A Valentine’s Day heart decor is created. In Japan, the most popular and creative way of showing love is through Origami.
