Konstitusyon malalabag sa RH bill

Paglabag sa  umano sa Saligang Batas partikular ang Convention on the Elimination of Discrimination Against Women (Cedaw) kung hindi maisasabatas ang kontrobersyal ng Reproductive Health (RH) bill.

Ayon kay Senador Pia Cayetano, sponsor ng naturang panukala, malinaw umanong isang diskriminasyon sa mga kababaihan kung ipagkakait sa kanila ang reproductive health. “If the legislature refuses to pass the (RH) bill, when the local governments withhold family planning services and supplies and deny women reproductive and sexual equality (through deprivation of access) therefore it redounds to a discrimination against women,” sabi ni Cayetano.

Dahil wala umanong access sa reproductive health services ang mga kababaihan, wala silang oportunidad na magplano ng kanilang pamilya.

“But if they have access to the information and the facilities, then they would be able to space their children perhaps, get a better job, get promoted, be a better parent, provide for their children,” dagdag pa nito.- (Abante Tonite)
